Rainhard Fendrich Seit Juli 2002 und bis Ende des Jahres 2003 bin ich bei den Vereinigten Bühnen Wien für die Welturaufführung „Wake Up“ von Rainhard Fendrich und Harald Faltermeyer am Raimund Theater als Produktionsleiter tätig. Das ist so etwas wie ein Spielleiter oder Künstlerischer Leiter, beinhaltet aber auch viel Organisatorisches. Als „En-Suite“ Musical ist jede Rolle mehrfach besetzt. Seit der Premiere bin ich für die szenische Einstudierung aller Besetzungen allein verantwortlich. Nebenbei habe ich die diesjährige Abschluss – Show der Vienna Musical School am wiener Akzenttheater produziert. Diese war ein Szenenshowcase aus „Oklahoma“, „Rent“ und „The Rocky Horror Show“. Meine organisatorisch unterstützende Tätigkeit half den Studenten höchstmöglichen künstlerischen und technischen Ansprüchen gerecht zu werden. Weiteren Gastunterricht gab ich u.a. am Vienna Konservatorium, am Performing Center Austria und an Hamburgs Staatliche Jugendmusikschule. Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall Im Juni 2003 fand auch die Premiere vom „Schwarzwaldmädel“ an den Freilichtspielen Schwäbisch Hall statt, für die ich dem Regisseur Achim Plato künstlerische Mitarbeit im Bereich Text- und Musikdramaturgie leistete. Ausserdem konzipierte ich einen James-Joyce-Abend mit Live-Musik und Lesungen für die Irische Botschaft in Wien.   Von Mai 2001 bis September 2002 habe ich als freier Theatermacher bei verschiedenen Events künstlerische Mitarbeit geleistet. Dazu habe ich auch Workshops in Musical-Song-Interpretation am Vienna Performing Arts Studios – Performing Center Austria, Tanzforum Wien – und an der ehemaligen Stella Academy in Hamburg gegeben. Aber hauptsächlich habe ich an einem neuen Stück "The Rat Pack" geschrieben. Nur so viel: es spielt zur Zeit der kontroversen Kennedy-Präsidentschaftswahl von 1960, viele berühmte Persönlichkeiten dieser Zeit treten dabei auf, der Soundtrack besteht aus Originalsongs der Zeit und das Ganze ist in ein Allround-Entertainmentkonzept verpackt… Emailen Sie mir, um mehr darüber zu erfahren! Von November 1996 bis zur feierlichen Schliessung in April 2002 war ich Spielleiter  von „BUDDY – Das Musical“ im Hamburger Hafentheater. Das Theaterstück entwickelte sich während dieser Zeit aus dem Musical „Buddy – die Buddy Holly Story“ in eine Art sich ständig veränderndes Gesamtentertainment. Das Kreativ-Team, zu dem ich gehörte, entwickelte zu jedem Castwechsel ein neues Aufführungsformat mit Text- und Musikverbesserungen, neuen Szenen, ergänzenden Figuren und ein innovatives Marketingkonzept.   Zu meinen weiteren Aufgaben bei "BUDDY" gehörten ebenso die enge Zusammenarbeit mit Presse- / Marketingabteilungen und Geschäftsführung, die Betreuung der jährlichen Castings sowie die Entwicklung und Ausführung unzähliger damit verbundener Corporate Events. 1993 – 1996 hatte ich mehrere sich jährlich wiederholenden saisonale Tätigkeiten im Bereich Regie. Das kann man vielleicht am einfachsten so beschreiben: Im Frühling: Welsh National Opera, Cardiff, London und auf Tournee: Wiederaufnahmeregie, Regieassistenz, Abendspielleitung. Im Sommer: Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall: Regie, Regieassistenz, Abendspielleitung. Im Herbst: Wexford Festival Opera: Regie der „Opera Scenes“ und Opern. Im Winter: Gormanston College, Co. Meath, Irland: Theaterlehrer und Projektleiter (Musical), Regie. 1991 – 1993 hatte ich ein Engagement als Regieassistent und Abendspielleiter am damaligen Stadttheater Luzern – heute Luzerner Theater – in den Sparten Oper, Schauspiel, Kinder- und Jugendtheater. Dort inszenierte ich als Abschied Mozart’s „Bastien & Bastienne“. 1987 – 1991 inszenierte ich während meines Musik- und Theaterwissenschaftsstudiums – Hauptfach Regie - am Trinity College Dublin verschiedene Opern und Musicals an Freien und Studentenbühnen, u.a am Samuel Beckett Centre, The Royal Irish Academy of Music und Dublin University Players. Während dieser Zeit arbeitete ich an unzähligen kleineren Produktionen in der Gestaltung von Licht, Ton, Musik, Ausstattung und Werbung. Während und unmittelbar nach meinem Studium hatte ich die Gelegenheit, an professionellen Bühnen, u.a. am Badischen Staatstheater Karlsruhe, am Stuttgarter Staatstheater, sowie in Irland am Dubliner Gate Theatre, für die damalige Dublin Grand Opera Society - heute Opera Ireland, - am Gaiety Theatre Dublin und mehrmals am Wexford Festival Opera im Bereich Regieassistenz Erfahrungen zu sammeln. 1989 - 1990 verbrachte ich im Rahmen eines Erasmus-Stiftung-Studentenaustausches ein Semester am Institut für Theaterwissenschaften der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Dort studierte ich u.a. Musiktheaterdramaturgie und Comedia dell l’Arte. Als Student am Royal Irish Acadamy of Music und davor als Chorsänger am St. Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin studierte ich „Ancient Music“ und Kirchenmusik, und lernte dabei, jeden Tag in höchstmöglicher Qualität mehrere professionelle Auftritte zu absolvieren. Diese Erfahrungen haben mich geprägt und sicherlich meine weitere Laufbahn beeinflusst.   Damals war der Rock ‚n’ Roll allerdings nur ein Hobby! Nach oben... Home... Stage Productions... Rainhard Fendrich From July 2002 until the end of 2003 I will be at the Vereinigten Bühnen Wien  as Artistic Production Manager for the world premiere of Rainhard Fendrich and Harald Faltermeyer's musical „Wake Up“ at the Raimund Theater. This job is similar to that of Staff Director, except that it involves more long-term organisation. In an „En-Suite“ Musical like this, playing upwards of six times a week, each role must be covered by several understudies. Since the opening of this production, I have been responsible for rehearsals of all casts. This year I supervised the Vienna Musical School's annual end-of-year production at the Akzent ,theatre in Vienna. This show consisted of scenic showcases from „Oklahoma“, „Rent“ und „The Rocky Horror Show“. Meine organisational support helped the students achieve the highest possible artistic and technical standards. I also found time to appear as guest teacher at other performance academys, including the  Vienna Konservatorium, Performing Center Austria and Hamburg's State Music School Schwäbisch Hall Festival June 2003 also saw the Premiere of my new version of „The Black Forest Maiden“ at the Freilichtspielen Schwäbisch Hall , conceived and created with director Achim Plato and musical director Micha Fuchs. I also devised and took part in a James-Joyce-Evening with live-musik and readngs for the Irish Embassy in Vienna.   From May 2001 to September 2002 I worked as freelance theatre artist on various cultural and Corporate Events . I also gave Workshops in Musical-Song-Interpretation at the Vienna Performing Arts Studios – Performing Center Austria, Tanzforum Wien – and at the Stella Academy in Hamburg. But mainly I have been working on my new show "The Rat Pack". During my time there, this musical developed into an ever-changing interactive entertainment. With every annual cast change, the creative team to which I belonged devised a completely new show-format with new scenes, music and choreogrephy, a completely revised script augmented with new characters and an innovative marketing concept.   My duties at "BUDDY" included close collaboration with press and marketing departments and with top management, supervison of the annual auditions as well as the creation and production of countless product-related Corporate Events. From 1993 to 1996 I had several annually reoccurring seasonal directing and teaching jobs. In the Spring: Welsh National Opera, Cardiff, London and on Tour: Revival Director, Assistant Director, Staff Producer. In the Summer: Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall: Director, Assistant Director, Staff Producer. In the Autumn: Wexford Festival Opera: Director of the „Opera Scenes“ und Operas. In the Winter: Gormanston College, Co. Meath, Ireland: Drama studies teacher and Projekt Director (Musical). Fancy a spot of quidditch, anyone? 1991 – 1993 was spent at the Luzerner Theater – the municipal theatre of Lucerne, Switzerland as assistant director for opera, drama, pantomime and youth drama, and director of Mozart’s „Bastien & Bastienne“ During my studies in Music and Theatre at Trinity College Dublin 1987 – 1991 I became the first and possibly only student to specialise exclusively in music theatre, directing my first three operas and a musical for various student and fringe theatre organisations like the Samuel Beckett Centre, The Royal Irish Academy of Music und Dublin University Players. During this time I also worked tirelessly as designer, sound-and-lighting technician stage music director and public relations officer for a large number of other productions. During and immediately following my studies I had the opportunity to gain experience as assistant director at professional Theatres, including the Badische Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the Stuttgarter Staatstheater, and in Irland at the Gate Theatre Dublin, for the Dublin Grand Opera Society - now Opera Ireland, - at the Gaiety Theatre Dublin and several times at Wexford Festival Opera. 1989 - 1990 I spent a semester in Munich under the auspices of the Erasmus-Scholarship-Programme at the Institut für Theaterwissenschaften of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. There I studied music theatre dramaturgy und Comedia dell l’Arte. As student at the Royal Irish Acadamy of Music und before that as Chorister at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin I studied Choral and Ancient Music, lerning to perform several times a day at a high standard - every day!
